For the fifth consecutive year, the State Fair of Texas is offering Sensory-Friendly Mornings, taking place every Wednesday on October 4, 11, and 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The State Fair says it is committed to creating a welcoming environment for families. That’s why they’re bringing back Sensory-Friendly Mornings for a fifth year. In collaboration with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) and other esteemed local organizations, they’ve developed ways to make this experience enjoyable and beneficial for all who come to the fair.

During Sensory-Friendly Mornings, State Fair officials have made special adjustments throughout the fairgrounds to cater to those with sensory sensitivities.

The State Fair of Texas has prepared a guided itinerary featuring activities and exhibits that are gentle on the senses. Additionally, they’ve designated specific areas around the fairgrounds as “Quiet Zones,” which are highlighted in the itinerary. These spaces offer families the chance to take a break and decompress if needed.

From 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., fairgoers can revel in all the fun of the Midway without the usual lights and sounds. The regular Midway lights and sounds will resume at 1 p.m.

The State Fair of Texas is extending a warm welcome to individuals with autism, their families, and anyone seeking a sensory-friendly experience to come and enjoy the State Fair during their Sensory-Friendly Mornings.

P.S. Wednesday also happens to be the best discount day! For every person who brings five canned food items to donate to the North Texas Food Bank, they will receive $5 admission.
