Take your children to see the best-loved children’s story of all time acted out on stage! The Dallas Children’s Theater will be hosting a sensory-friendly production of “Charlotte’s Web” this weekend.

The Dallas Children’s Theater is known for putting on a sensory-friendly show during its regularly-scheduled shows for individuals with sensory needs. During the sensory-friendly show, the house lights will be left up a few levels higher than a standard performance. Crews will also be reducing the sound level inside the theater. The theater offers a quiet room, too, for children who need a break.

“A child with autism or some other sensory challenge who loves theater and the arts will be excited about this new program at DCT and, hopefully, with the transformational experience of theater, will be inspired to creatively contribute to the world and their community in their own way,” the Dallas Children’s Theater writes on its website.

The sensory-friendly production of “Charlotte’s Web” will be on Saturday, May 6 at 1:30 p.m. Pre-show activities begin at 12:30 p.m. and the doors to the theater open at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person for this show, which is cheaper than the theater’s regular show prices that range from $10 to $40. To purchase tickets, you must call the Dallas Children’s Theater Box Office at 214-740-0051. Seating for the sensory-friendly performance will be general admission.
