A 2-year-old boy who has myofibromatosis has been reaching major milestones in the 24 months he’s been receiving therapy services from The Warren Center.
Rush was born in June 2020. He was diagnosed with myofibromatosis at birth and has a tumor in his left leg and pelvis. He has gone through a variety of surgeries, chemotherapy, and bracing to treat the tumor.
Rush has been enrolled in The Warren Center’s early childhood intervention program since he was 7 months old. For the past two years, he has been receiving physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy depending on his needs over time. His therapists have been a part of some of his first steps and so many more milestones along the way.
Therapists visit the toddler at his daycare in Rowlett where he receives his therapy services. The therapists often communicate with parents via pictures and videos to give updates and ideas for things to continue to try at home with Rush.
“He is the sweetest kiddo who has been through so much,” Rush’s physical therapist, Abby, said. “His family is very involved and are absolutely amazing.”
